The many looks of Elora

TUMMY TIME!

Always smiley.
This is the Teddy that the boys gave Elora when she was born. She loves to maul the thing even though it is as big as she is.
"Hey, this pacifier thing isn't so bad."
Tyler and Degan were both pacifier babies, so when Elora refused to take one for the first 4 months I just figured oh well, I won't have to break her of it later. Tonight she was sucking on her lips so I thought I would try the pacifier again. She liked it and actually fell asleep on her own in her bed. I will worry about breaking the habit later, for now I am enjoying a sleeping baby.

Just passing time.

Me and my beautiful children.

I had to go get some laundry out of the dryer so I told Tyler to hold Elora. They were both so happy just watching TV. Tyler is very helpful entertaining Elora when I need to get things done.
We haven't really gone anywhere lately so Jon set up the little blow up pool. The boys have a lot of fun in it.
THE ARMY. Tyler spent quite some time setting up all of his GI Joe's. I'm sure Degan helped too. They wanted a picture of the hard work. Tyler looks upset but he is really just trying to look tough.

Cute Kids

Elora likes to be on my knees while I am laying on my back. It is an easy way to get tummy time since she hates tummy time on the floor.

If you have a teething baby then you need Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets. 30 seconds before this picture she was crying and couldn't sleep. 2 tablets later, she's out. She doesn't normally sleep with the bottle. Just thought I would have it in the picture.

Yesterday I told Tyler to read for 20 minutes while I took a shower. When I got out I found Tyler and Degan in the playroom laying on Degan's blanket. Tyler was reading and Degan was listening to him read. We are lucky to have such good kids.

A Busy 2 Days

On June 20, my sister-in-law Jen and I took our kids to the Provo Canyon to see Bridal Veil Falls. It was beautiful and it was very warm outside so the boys had a blast playing in the water. We forgot extra clothes but they didn't care, by the time we left they were all pretty much soaked. After the Falls we went to the BYU Creamery for the first time. We had lunch and of coarse we had to have desert, ICE CREAM!!!

Bridal Veil Falls

Tyler and Degan still dry.

Elora was tired of being in the stroller. I was keeping her out of the sun.

The boys, Degan 3, Tyler 7, Shane 6, and Brandon 9.

On Saturday the 21st our city put on a carnival and fireworks. At the carnival, there was a squirt gun fight. They were trying to beat the Guinness Book World Record but unfortunately it didn't happen. I guess they needed 2700 people and there were only 1700. Good try though. The kids had fun and so did Jon. After the Squirt Gun Fight the DJ guy had 6 people go in front of his booth and do the Chicken Dance for 5 free tickets each to Seven Peaks Waterpark. I just happened to be one of those 6. Jon didn't think of taking a picture of me doing it (thank goodness) but let me tell you, it wasn't easy doing it with Elora in the front pack. I didn't mind looking silly for over $100 worth of tickets. We were so excited. Later that night we scouted out where the fireworks were going to be launched from and we were pretty much the only ones right under it. Everyone else was at the park. I really thought Elora would be scared of the loud booms but she just loved watching them.

All wet.

Tyler was so happy to see his buddy Zion at the Squirt Gun Fight.

Here is one of the tickets, YEAH!!!

Fireworks.

Jon and Elora watching the fireworks.

The boys actually had to go lay on a blanket in the grass because the fireworks were so close.

4 Months Already

I can't believe Elora is already 4 Months old. She is growing up too fast. She is getting her 2nd tooth and I love hearing her coo. She had her 4 month check up today and is growing good. She is 12 lbs. 15 oz. (25%) and 25 1/4 inches (90%). Long and lean is what the doctor said. No solids needed for this baby girl yet, she is doing fine.

We had another hot day with bad air outside so we decided to go the the Dinosaur museum again since we have the year pass. It was Elora's first time there and the boys had a lot of fun.

Just thought I would take some pictures of our baby on her 4 month birthday. She is so pretty.

I love our kids. They are so beautiful and I am proud of each of them. They have their moments but overall they are very good kids. I wouldn't trade them for the world. I love you guys.

The past 2 weeks

The past 2 weeks we have been trying to keep the boys busy since it is summer vacation. On June 7th we took the kids to The Hutchings Museum in Lehi. We have been wanting to go since we moved here and when we saw it on the news as being one of the most haunted places in Utah, well, we had to go. Much to our dismay, we didn't see anything weird happen but it was a really cute museum. A lot of stuff for such a small place. The boys favorite parts were the dinosaur exhibit and the jail cell.

On June 9th I was determined to get the kids out so we decided to go on a picnic. I didn't want to drive far but I didn't want to go the the local park so we jumped in the car and went to Willow Park. It is about 5 minutes from our house and the boys had a blast throwing rocks and sticks in the river. Degan's favorite part.....peeing in the bushes. You gotta love boys. My favorite part.....it was free!!!

We decided to plant a garden this year and we were pulling weeds when all of a sudden Jon noticed this little guy hiding in the rocks. The boys were scared at first but then they were so excited to see him. We got him out and took him to a neighbor who said he is a Blue Racer Snake. We were surprised to see how long he was, a couple of feet at least.

On Friday Jon took the boys camping up in the Uinta National Forest to Payson Lakes. It was beautiful. I went up with Elora on Saturday to spend the day with them because there is no way that I am sleeping in a tent with a baby. I am glad I went and could see the boys having fun. They went on the canoe with Jon and Grandpa and we went on a really long walk around the entire lake. It is bigger than it looks. Tyler and Jon spent Saturday night there also but I took Degan home with me. I didn't want him to spend another night in the cold since we are dealing with tonsil issues with him. He gets to see a specialist on Thur. to see if they need to be removed. Anyway, Tyler loved the campfire and making S'mores and also sleeping in the tent but his favorite part......playing with the new knife that Jon gave him. He couldn't put it down. It scares the daylights out of me but I have to remember that he is growing up and can't be my baby forever.

Tyler just kicking back eating chips.

The canoe is parked on shore. We would never let him sit on the edge without a life jacket.

Elora liked putting her feet in the water.

Jon out fishing in the canoe. He did catch one and Tyler actually ate 3 bites. I personally think it is gross.

And today June 16th, I took the boys to a Hawk show. Our little city puts on a week of events each year and today's event was the Hawk show, only too bad for us it was very hot and the show had one hawk. The boys were very bored so we walked to the lake and put our feet in the water. Remind me next year not to do that again. Hopefully the fireworks and carnival will be fun on Saturday. So, how many more weeks of vacation to go??? I need more ideas to keep the kids busy. I have a few in mind. I will keep you posted.

Blessing, tooth and rolls

Elora and her pretty blessing outfit.

Aunt Becky and Elora

The boys at Temple Square. What a beautiful backround.
Just thought this outfit was too cute.

We have had a busy week. We got to enjoy the company of Jon's sister Becky and her husband Sergio. We blessed Elora on Sunday, June 1st, then got to celebrate Jon's cousin Erika's birthday and graduation. Wednesday we were able to go to the temple for Becky and Sergio's sealing, it was wonderful. Wed. night I found Elora's tooth just broke through her gums and now it is Friday and Elora rolled over from her back to her tummy. I can't believe how fast this little girl wants to grow up. It makes me sad to see her growing so fast but I am so proud of all of her accomplishments. The boys are so impressed with the little things she does. It is really cute. What I should be doing instead of blogging......writing a baptism talk to be given tomorrow (talk about procrastinating), preparing my sharing time lesson to be given Sunday, going grocery shopping, cleaning house, laundry, playing with the kids. It is just one of those weeks.

You can pause the music at the bottom of the blog page.
