October 2010 Happenings

We've been busy around here this month but it has been lots of fun.
Elora lovin on Louis, she loves him so much.
Degan's Kindergarten class all dressed up for Halloween. They were all so dang cute.
Tyler was bound and determined to be Jason from Friday the 13th, not that he has ever even seen it. To him Halloween = Scary, which is true right? Degan was talked into being a ninja and Elora was a Peacock because I was worried about her being warm and it was the only thing left at Old Navy that looked warm. They all were very cute +/or scary.

We finally were able to take Tyler and a few of his friends to the movies for his 10th birthday. We saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice which was a pretty good movie.

The most fun we had this month was going to Park City. I had never gone up there in the Fall but it was beautiful. So many awesome colors on the mountains. Jon and I actually went up for 2 nights by ourselves and then we picked up the kids for another 2 nights. We had fun swimming, shopping(at least I did), taking our scarecrow walk, eating out, and even a haunted house(just me and Jon). It was so nice being alone with Jon, we had never done that since Elora was born but we all survived.

We got to go to a real pumpkin patch, go on a hayride and pick out some pumpkins. It was fun.

On the first day of UEA (fall break) I took the kids to Gardner village to see the witches. They were all so cute. I could not believe how many witches there were and how many people were there too. What did I think going the first day of UEA?
Now we are into November and I am really looking forward to the holidays. I went in the store today and saw so much Christmas stuff getting put out, I just wanted to come home and decorate but I will at least try to wait for Thanksgiving until I do that.

The Bed!!!

The finished product.
So, Jon and I were looking into buying a bed for Elora and we noticed that for $150 we could buy a hunk of junk. Well we have been suckered into one too many hunks of junk around here so Jon decided (with a little encouragement from me) that he could build a bed for Elora. I think it turned out great and I will tell you right now that it won't be falling apart anytime in the near or distant future. It is SOLID!
Elora loved painting the bed. The boys got in on the act also.
Before the paint.

Cornbelly's 2010

We were able to go to Cornbelly's on opening weekend with the Kendell's and the kids had a blast. They went through "The Monster", rode pedal carts, went up and down the slides a hundred times, bounced on the jumping pillow and went through the corn maze. Even though it was almost 90 degrees in October, we still had a great time.

Tyler's 10th Birthday

No I haven't forgotten about Tyler's birthday, we are just waiting until Jon is off on a weekend to take Tyler and some of his buddies to the movies. His actual birthday wasn't too exciting because Jon had to work, Tyler had school and football and it was just one of those days. The day before his birthday we went to The Brick Oven for some yummy pizza and well, that was it. We love our Tyler. He is still sweet as pie, even his teacher says so, and I am so grateful he has such a kind heart and that we get to enjoy him everyday.

It was fun making these little cakes but now Tyler is already putting in his request for his birthday.

Degan with his GameBoy.

My sweet birthday boy. Happy Birthday Degan!!!

BABY LOWA

The title of this post is in reference to how Elora answers you if you ask her what her name is. I love love love how she says it because it is always in a very loud voice with such determination to say it.....BABY LOWA!!! Not just Lowa, it is Baby Lowa.

So this is her mastering her scooter skills and having so much fun.

Showing off her hair do. I took a pic so I can remember how I did it. I am not very talented when it comes to the hair department.
I do love this little girl. I can't imagine life without her, even though it would be easier;)

Rio Tinto Employee Family Night

Kennecott is part of Rio Tinto which own the Stadium that Real Salt Lake soccer team play at. So anyway, they had a family night for employees which was so cool. They first gave us a tote bag with a blanket, first aid kit and a flash light. Then they had every consession stand open and we could order whatever was on the menu and it was completely free. How awesome is that??? My kids thought it was pretty cool. There were clowns and face painters, popcorn, cotton candy and all the soda you could drink. They had stadium tours and a movie playing on the big screen.
View from the Press Lounge.

Walking out the same tunnel that the players run through.

In front of the 2009 MLS Cup Trophy.

The boys sitting where the press sits.

The boys with Leo. Elora adored Leo from afar but as soon as we went on the field and got close she freaked out so bad. Then from afar again she loved him.
So all in all it was a very good day.

Summer 2010 Part 3

Just had to add this cute picture of Deg. He was playing army guy when I called him to come eat. He was all dressed up, even had a canteen the entire time he ate.
My handsome boys as we headed to church.

Our first Geo-Caching adventure.

Our Red Butte Gardens walk. Tyler is a pretty good photographer.

Tyler got an early 10th birthday present. A new 21 Speed bike. He was so excited.

The kids watching a movie in the tent trailer.

Camping up American Fork Canyon.

Bought a slip and slide.

Went on the Sweet's Candy Factory tour. I took my hair net off but didn't let the kids, they looked so stinkin cute.

Summer 2010 cont.

These are a little out of order but there are too many to fix.

Elora doing the dishes while camping up near Tinney Flat (Santaquin Canyon I think)
Degan loved this stick. I think we still may have it.

We bought ourselves a tent trailer. Boy does it make camping easier.

We went to Madi's 1st Birthday party and got to see some sweet cousins from Colorado.

Went hat shopping. Shopping is always funner with friends.

Went to the Herriman Splash Pad. Elora and the boys had a blast.

Degan squished between Conner and Tyler. I love these kids.

I became a den leader (got released as Primary Pres. in May) to the Wolves and got to go to Day camp with my sweet Tyler even though he is a Bear.

Went to the Freedom Fest in Provo and the highlight was seeing real clone troopers.

And we got to take a tour of the Mrs. Field's cookie factory.
But hold on I will be posting about the rest of our summer too.
